2. Use Windows Power Plan. There are three types of Power Plan: Balanced, Power Saver and High Performance. Balanced will reduce CPU Speed when needed while using the laptop.
Power Saver is a setting that reduces CPU Speed and Screen Brightness no matter what you are using on your laptop.
High Performance is the setting that maximizes CPU Speed and Screen Brightness.
If you choose to use these settings, you will be able to extend the life of your laptop battery.
3. Eject the disk drive. Inserting the disk into the laptop will drain the laptop battery, so remove the disk and use the laptop.
4. If you are using an external keyboard or mouse, disconnect it when you are not using it, as the motherboard may be giving them power. Avoid storing memory sticks for long periods of time.
